General Policies

Gradient does not have official work hours, principally because we haven’t needed to dictate a set schedule and our team is distributed across too many time zones to make that realistic. The expectation is that everyone attends the sprint planning, standup, kaizen, and other firm-wide meetings. Other than that, your schedule is yours to manage and communicate.

Although we don’t have a formalized professional development program, that does not mean professional development does not occur. Quite the opposite! Our philosophy is to let you identify and choose where you could benefit from professional development. This can be a course, a conference, buying a textbook, or listening to a mind-bending author for an hour a day. Just take your proposal for approval to your manager and with a decently strong case, you will be well on your way to developing professionally.
